There was a time when Reed’s life was coming apart. Addiction. Incarceration. Broken trust. And even after prison, years of struggling with alcohol.
On October 8, 2018, he became sober. Through surrender and faith, a life that once seemed beyond repair began to change.
Today, Reed is a husband, a father, an author, and a speaker. He shares his story for one reason: someone still in the middle of their hardest chapter needs to know there is hope.

Reed’s story begins with choices he takes responsibility for. Addiction and broken trust were pulling his life apart. In 2005, he was arrested. He spent two years incarcerated and was paroled in 2007.
Prison was a consequence, but walking out of it was not the end of his struggle. For roughly twelve more years, Reed lived with alcohol dependence. He kept working and kept going, while alcohol remained a part of his life. A person can appear to be functioning and still need help.
Change required more than trying to hold everything together. It required surrender: facing the truth, accepting responsibility, and turning to God. On October 8, 2018, Reed became sober. That date remains a marker of a new beginning.
Restoration has been lived out in everyday life—in faith, marriage, family, and the way he shows up for the people he loves. Reed married Jo in September 2019. In December 2025, they finalized the adoption of two daughters. Family is a deeply personal part of what has been restored.
Today, Reed is a husband, father, and business owner in Plainview, Texas. He is also the author of Overflow: You Can’t Pour from an Empty Cup. The book tells the truth about his past while keeping its attention on surrender, redemption, and what God can do with a willing life.
He now shares his testimony with people who need hope: in recovery, in faith communities, behind jail and prison walls, and in honest conversations about starting again. He does not share it to glorify where he has been. He shares it because he knows what it means to feel too far gone—and to discover that grace still reaches there.
What God has poured into Reed’s life is meant to overflow into the lives of others. That is the purpose behind the book and every conversation that follows.
